PREMILINARY
A. Background
Childbirth is a
normal physiological and events experienced by women. Labor that can not be
handled properly can cause birth process does not take place smoothly so that
the delivery takes longer. Power or the power of the mother is the one that can
affect labor to last long.
Pain in childbirth
is painful uterine contractions that can lead to increased activity of the
sympathetic nervous system. Severe pain in childbirth can cause
perubahanperubahan physiology, such as increased blood pressure, increase in
heart rate, and respiratory rate increase, and if not addressed, then this
situation will increase anxiety, tension, fear and stress. Increased
consumption of glucose in the body mothers who experience stress causes fatigue
and catecholamine secretion that inhibits contractions of the uterus, and it
causes birth into old.
Hypnobirthing
method is a combination of process natural birth with hypnosis to build a
positive perception and confidence as well as lowering the fear, anxiety and
tension, and panic before, during and after childbirth). One of the technique
is autohipnosis (selfhipnosis) or swasugesti in the face and go through
pregnancy and childbirth so that the pregnant women were able through pregnancy
and birth in the natural way, smooth, and comfortable (without pain), and more
importantly is to mental health of the baby. When the woman who gave birth free
from fear, his muscles, including the muscles of the uterus, will experience
the relaxation that make the birth process easier and stress-free

DISCUSSION
Hypnobirthing
intended that mothers can give birth with convenient, fast, and smooth and
relieve the pain of childbirth without the aid of any anesthetic. This method
is also more emphasis birth in a positive way, gentle, safe, and easy.
Hypnobirthing
method emphasizes the emergence of positive suggestion, feeling calm and
relaxed which makes it convenient. When conditions are calm and relaxed, then
the brain will automatically drain endorphins that reduce pain and provide
comfort and relaxation. However, if the sense of panic, fear, or stress during
labor intensified, then the brain will drain the substance which cover expenses
endorphins. The more afraid someone at birth, the more extraordinary is also
pain will be felt.
Hypnobirthing will bring a mother to do not think about and
feel the pain caused by contractions of the uterus. Contraction is a natural
thing that must happen during labor. However, hypnobirthing able to make
mothers stay relaxed and not panic so without painful birth process went
smoothly and suddenly the baby's cry was heard. When in a relaxed state, the
subconscious mother would regulate the alignment of the body and produce
anesthesia or sedation naturally in the mother that is endorphins.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
In this chapter
will be described on the results of research and discussion on hypnobirthing
influence on the level of pain and progress of labor can be seen in Table 1:

From Table 1
obtained P value 0.001, which means means that a significant difference between
the intensity of labor pain hypnobirthing with the birth mothers. This is
evident from the decline in the pain scale at 30 samples conducted research on
groups hypnobirthing.
5
In the group that
was not given hypnobirthing, most respondents experiencing severe pain (66.7%),
followed by moderate pain (26.7%), and very severe pain (6.7%). In the group
given hypnobirthing, the majority of respondents had moderate pain (60%),
followed by severe pain (26.7%), and mild pain (13.3%).
This is in line
with research conducted Melyana, et al. (2009) in the title hypnobirthing
method effect on pain intensity in the first stage of normal labor BPS
Semarang. The study showed that most respondents in the group not given
hypnobirthing experiencing severe pain intensity by 70% and 30% mild pain. In
the group given hypnobirthing, most respondents experiencing mild pain as much
as 66%, 27% moderate pain and severe pain as much as 7%. This research was
supported by the results of 2010 Marfu'ah of pain intensity differences among
respondents who do hypnobirthing on maternity primipara in normal labor. The
results of the study note that, of the 30 respondents who were given hypnobirthing,
respondents showed severe pain was 40%, 53.3% moderate pain, and mild pain 3.3%
(Marfu'ah, 2010).

Source: Primary Data
From table 2
analysis showed that the average duration of labor in women given birth without
hypnobirthing is to progress in labor 100 minutes and the average maternity
with hynobirthing is 66.7 minutes. The p-value of 0.038 means that there
hypnobirthing influence on the progress of labor in birth mothers.
